How to Create a Mac Quick Action to Convert PNG to JPG
Here’s a quick guide to creating an Automatic service (quick action) so that you can convert PNG image files to JPG with a right-click.
Converting the PNG file to JPG doesn’t need any fancy software. There is a function baked into macOS and accessible to Automator.
You can set it up as a Quick Action so that you can right-click on the file and convert it to JPG with a single click.
Step 1: Open “Automator” Application
Step 2: Create an Quick Action Document
Quick Actions are workflows that may be added to Finder, Touch Bar, and the Services menu.
Step 3: Configure Workflow Input

Step 4: Load Image Convert Action
Find the “Change type of images” action from the left actions list and drag it into the right-hand paneL. Change the output type of the image to “JPG”.
Step 5: Export Document
Export this document to
Convert PNG to JPG.workflow
Step 6: Install the newly created workflow
Double click the workflow file
Convert PNG to JPG.workflow and install.
Step 7: Enable the extension
System Preferences ➜ Extensions ➜ Finder , make sure the “Convert PNG to JPG” extension checked.
